image to be used in gallery

I chose this photo from the rest because I thought  with it having two image, the older photo and the current photo of the area that it worked better with hoe I combined them together. I had to edit the photo further to add a white border that measured 2.5.cm.

The print foe the gallery had to be 359mm by 507mm the print also had to be a satin finish mounted onto a 5mm white foam bored. The printing company that I used was DS colour labs.

final 6 re-photography

All of the images are from Claremont road. After experimenting with the editing I decided to have the older images layered on top of the current photos kinda like they have been ghosted over the past.

You can see with the photo above that their was some damage to the older image and it shows through, which I thought showed that the older photo is still present within the current photo kind of like the past is leaking in to the present. The houses are pretty much the same as they were in the older photo but because the angle was slightly different the house look to be in a sort of double vision.

With this photo you can see that not much has change at all except their are black bins and that their is ivy over the house were in the older photo, that was photographed with a Polaroid instant camera, that their is no ivy over the house. Again the house is slight;y of double vision but I like to think that it is showing the past and the present in one.

I edited this photo slightly different to the over since I could not get the right angle for the photo and it did not work very well when I edited in the same way as the the others. As I said in the re-photographed images post I liked the corner shop more then the house because I thought the corner shop and its window display was more interesting and had more character then the house. So I only edited the shop in to the photo instead of other layering the whole of the older photo.

As one of the previous photos this photo is similar but I liked how it showed the moving cars and the man walking along the street which was not in the older photo. The cars look like ghost since you can see the older image through them.

I think this photo worked out the better then the rest because nothing looks to be of double vision and you can clearly see the changes that have happened other the years for example the road. I like how their is a mix of the older photos with it black and white signs and the current photos with the red signs. The road from the older photo looks to be ghostly road since it fades out into the background.

Editing this image was not as easy as the others because I did not know what the angle was so editing the older photo on to the current photo was hard since I did not know if it would work or not but I think even though the angle is wrong that it does show you how time has affected the church. I also think since the church is not as big or a as wonderful and it once was that it indicates how the church is not what it once was.

experimenting

I didn't know how I wanted the photos to look it was ether collage them together or edit them together so I decided to try out the editing the images together so I layered the older photo on top of the current photo and erased parts that I didn't really want.

After playing around with the editing I decided that this way of combining the two photos together did not work the way I wanted them to. The final out come of the editing was quite a lot like Sergey Larenkov work which is one of the reason why I chose not to use these images as my final set of photos.

re-photographed images

So after looking at the original images and deciding when I was going to re-take the photographs I packed up my camera and got a map and some friends who know how to read a map,  because I don't really know how to read one properly.  After a long walk we finally found the area were I was to photography. It was slightly hard finding the places were the photographs were taken I was walking around holding up photographs. In the end I finally found some of the areas that I was to re-photograph.

The image above is of The Holy Angel Church on Acresfield road the original image was of the church in decay looking like it had been left for a long time, as you can see the church above is pretty much a new building. I couldn't really see what angle the original image was at so I took a guess.

All the image above are of 3 image taken in the past I could not find any other areas that looked familiar. The photograph were taken on Claremont road. I like how the group of houses pretty much look the same as they did in the older photographs except the cars and the amber-lance that in the photographs.

Again the photographs are taken on Claremont road the image is pretty much the same as the original image except the cars and the black bins. I took a number of photographs so that I could get the right photo.

It was a little hard getting the right angle of this image since I think it was taken at a high angle. The house  as you can see has new bricks at the front were the corner shop windows used to be. To be honest I did not recognize that it was the corner shop. I have to admit that I like it as the corner shop because I think it had more character the n the house.

Again this photo was taken on Claremont road I recognized the layout of the road from one of the older photos except the older photo was taken at a slightly different angle.
